Southman
uses the latest hay tools available. If a hay tool cannot
be found that optimizes quality and performance, one is designed specifically
for the application.
No
rakes on this farm. Southman uses only swath turners/mergers. This
reduces the ash content in hay, saves leaves and optimizes quality.
In
order to hit the best weather windows, Southman has the capability to cut
up to 800 acres in one day.
Southman
uses balers that ensure adequate shipping weight. The balers
also have the option of cutting the crop to 4.5".
With
nearly 40,000 sq ft of storage space, quality hay is protected
from the elements.
